A new Optical ICP for the Quality Control Lab of Zingonia
A new Agilent Mod. 5110 using the ICP-OES technology (Inductively Coupled Plasma – Optical Emission Spectrometry) has been installed in the QC lab of the food supplement plant of Zingonia. This technology will be used for the determination of heavy and non-heavy metals in the food supplements, which could be either contaminants of raw materials or ingredients of food supplements.
The new instrument, equipped with auto-sampling and chiller, will guarantee faster and more thorough daily routine analysis of finished products, with a sensitivity far greater than traditional Atomic Absorption. The sample preparation obtained with a microwave digester system combined with a multistandard analytical comparison will allow the analysis of several samples in just one sequence as well as the very fast quantification of several minerals.
